The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Shows Off Adult Link, Bosses, Regions

Who says you can’t go home again? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake hits Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026, and it’s looking to be a fairly authentic recreation of the original game upon which it’s based. While some things have gotten noticeable changes, nips, tucks, and so on, others are more in line with the first Ocarina of Time. There are a number of notable changes coming to this version of Ocarina of Time. First and foremost, the adjustable camera that was added to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D has made its way here. Link also now has a dedicated jump button, as opposed to the auto-jumping from the original. The ocarina will actually use the built-in microphone on your controller to listen for the player humming the iconic tunes from the game; hum it right and you won’t have to do the button commands any longer. Link and Young Link also look to be sporting more intricate tunics, with various flourishes and stitchings that weren’t in the original (your mileage will likely vary on that). Time passes freely in towns and villages now, by the way, which will add a new layer to exploration, surely.

Zelda Notes, which are part of the Nintendo Switch app for Android and iOS, is getting some Ocarina of Time-specific additions, including a daily quiz with over 2,000 questions to answer. You can even pay using rupees earned in Ocarina of Time to keep retaking the quizzes as needed. On the more practical side of things, Zelda notes will also keep track of all your activities from day to day as you play, recording stats for you to review. The app will also challenge players to find in-game locations based on images, and there’s even a digital ocarina that can be played.
